Er habe „ein langes und sehr produktives Telefongespräch“ mit dem russischen Präsidenten Wladimir Putin geführt, schrieb Trump zunächst in seinem Netzwerk Truth Social.

Der ukrainische Präsident Wolodimir Selenskij reagierte auf der Internetplattform X nach einem Gespräch mit Trump zurückhaltend. „Niemand wünscht sich Frieden mehr als die Ukraine“, schrieb er.

Trump will möglichst bald persönlich mit Putin über den Ukrainekrieg verhandeln, wahrscheinlich in Saudi-Arabien.

Dort droht dem Russen wohl auch keine Festnahme

He had “a long and very productive telephone conversation” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump initially wrote on his Truth Social network.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted cautiously on the internet platform X after a conversation with Trump.

“Nobody wants peace more than Ukraine,” he wrote. Trump wants to negotiate personally with Putin about the Ukraine war as soon as possible, probably in Saudi Arabia.

The Russian is probably not under threat of arrest there either
