The Price of Victory
#488780 / vista 537 vecesPresident Donald Trump has urged Americans to accept higher gasoline prices as a consequence of the ongoing war with Iran. The U.S. national average for gasoline has risen to about $4.08 per gallon, up 29% from a year earlier. At the same time, fighting and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have severely disrupted oil shipping, with Iran asserting control over the strategic waterway.
The conflict has also contributed to wider economic pressure in the United States, while ceasefire negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain stalled. The Trump administration has threatened additional economic pressure and said the U.S. could maintain its naval blockade of Iran indefinitely.
