Born in Niterói, RJ, Brazil, Manuel Izidro dos Santos started drawing when he was a little boy, when he created characters and caricatures for friends. He began his professional career in 1998, drawing cartoons and comic strips for several newspapers in Brazil: Correio do Norte from Rondonia, Folha de Itaquera and Jornal Hoshi.
