It is a pretty German feat to react strongly to any cartoon that claims that someone is "a Hitler". And I agree. I am German, after all. The horrors of Nazi Germany are a complex topic, and any simple equation with Hitler/Nazis does not help to understand either National Socialism or the person / country /animal thus equated with it. Sometimes, however, the "German reactions" mentioned above seem standardized, or even as if we want to protect our Hitler from any comparisons with your small-time villains (this is not directed at Art Holland). This, too, is a serious issue and we (or anyone else reacting that way) should be careful about it. I opt for Nazi comparisons that transcend shallow nazi=evil statements and accusations of others being evil... AS LONG AS THEY ARE FUNNY. Also, I want more Hitlers in cartoons. No reason we shouldn't make fun of that man.
As for this cartoon... nah ... I don't think it's that funny. Or transcending anything. But I like the grotesque pinnocchio nose thing

But there's nothing wrong with discussing that. It's actually interesting to reflect about it. Thanks for the opportunity.
